This letter is never used in the beginning of a word; the capital form is reserved for use in wholly-capitalized words.

Ɛala ɛaks ħârf el Y elli fe-l Engelizi, el Y hena benestaɛmelha bas ka ħârf sábet, mec motaħarrek. Yaɛni zayy el Y el Engelizi elli fe kelmet yes, bass mec zayy Y fe very.
Unlike its English counterpart, The Y letter here is a consonant Y only, it should never be used as a vowel, i.e. as in yes, but not as in very.

El ħoruf di fe-l ğáleb betkun mawguda fe-k kalám elli men âsl agnabi.
